EA Sports and 2 Kings Recap…

Back from snowy Dallas... but thankfully, the weather didn't stop people from coming out and having an amazing time. Thursday night, I rocked with the legendary Pete Rock at Ghostbar for the EA Sports / NBA Live event. Good music + amazing view + video games = great time. Friday, I did a cool event at Lift, which ended up becoming NBA legend Dominique Wilkins birthday party.

Saturday was the big day, however. I was honored once again to deejay the "2 Kings Dinner," hosted by none other than Lebron James and Jay-Z. The room was star-studded to say the least, and I was able to entertain everyone with a playlist of classic r&b, 80's, and a plethora of original samples that Jay-Z has used over the years. Fun times!

NFL Players Association Gala…

Just did an amazing event in Miami for Superbowl XLIV... the NFL Players Association Gala. Simply amazing. On the 15th Floor rooftop of the Viceroy in Miami... the view was insane. This was perhaps the best deejay booth ever. Of course, a who's who of the NFL was there... as well the usual Superbowl cast of celebs, models and musicians. The best part was everyone really seemed to love good music... any party where you can play everything from The O'Jays and Marvin Gaye to David Bowie and The Clash to Jay-Z and Lil Wayne is a great event. Kudos to the NFLPA for a great time... and if you missed it, see you next year!

Back From LA / The Grammys…

Back from LA and the Grammys... Amazing trip. Shout out to my new team, Deckstar, who had me rocking at two Hollywood hotspots over the weekend... HWood and Haute. Good times. And then of course Sunday night was The Grammys. Rana and I were blessed to go for the second straight year... and being amongst all the musical legends is awe-inspiring. And that's an understatement. Then I deejayed the official Grammy afterparty at Staples/LA Live. Performances by Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx, Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave) and others. A great time. We are idiots and forgot the camera... so I had to settle for this one iPhone pic. But the background is pretty fresh, if i do say so myself. Hopefully I can find some pics online and post them later...

Welcome To The New MickBoogie.com…

I'd like to welcome you to the re-launch of MickBoogie.com. A lot of exciting things have been going on in my career... from traveling (Europe to Dubai to Vegas and more...) to music and much more. I wanted, on the new site, to be able to provide a behind the scenes of exactly what goes into my life, my events, my style, my music and more... and hopefully the new site and blog will provide that. What this blog won't be is a content aggregator... I already do that here. This will be much more personal and MB-related... and I think if you'll enjoy it.
